Great Place
I have been attending this church for a few months now and think I have really found a home here! I do not have friends or family outside of my spouse and child here in Topeka and this church has not only allowed me to be me but has also opened up the door to several opportunities to make life long friendships. My child also attends preschool here 5 days a week and I have never seen him grow and flourish as much as he is here! The place has its share of issue but you try running place whose sole reason for existing is to expand the minds of young children and tell me how easy you found it to be! I see my child staying at The Rock until kindergarten starts next fall and I see my souse and continuing to attend this church indefinitely.
To Each his own
I am sad to see some of the comments posted on here about GNC as I have not once encountered a bad situation. It appears that those that have left bad comments think church is a place for perfect people. On the contrary, church is a place for those that want to be better and have HUMAN characteristics. I have been attending GNC for a little over a year and LOVE it. I have made great friends during a time when I felt alone and without hope. The pastor has great sermons, the worship is inspiring and uplifting and the congregation is very involved in reaching out to the community. My kids are in great hands during Sunday morning service and the Director runs her program according to scripture. She is a strong woman and I am so glad to have stumbled into this church. And for anyone that is looking for a place to feel welcome and lifted up, look no further, this IS the place! Just remember, nobody's perfect and that's why we need Him!
not your grandma's church
I have been going to this church since I was in high school in the mid 90's I have watched many things happen from building moves, personnel changes, lives changed, people made happy, people made mad and a whole lot more. In short Ive been there long enough to say...
This church ROCKS it is solid in its beliefs and is full of people whom help you when you are down, celebrate with you in good times, help you become like Jesus, help you grow in all aspects of life, and correct you when you are wrong.
If you want a church that you can fill a seat and not grow or be held accountable this is not the church for you.
If you want one that is ALIVE, FRIENDLY, COMPASSIONATE, NOT YOUR GRANDMA'S CHURCH then you should check it out!!!
HORRIBLE!!
Not only is the "preacher" a scam artist, but the daycare director is horrible. We had so many conflicts with their daycare, I am so happy my daughter is out of there. I wish I would have read all of the reviews on yahoo, merchant, and google before I put her in their care. When we told Gordon, the "preacher," about the millions of problems we had, he laughed at us and said that since he's NEVER had a parent complain about their daycare, he didn't care what we said, we just needed to get our daughter out because of our conflicts with the horrible director, Pamela. I've never been treated so unkindely. I'm also not one to EVER put others down, but I hope I can help other parents and children by letting them know just how monsterous these people are. Please don't take your children here. If you look them up, you'll see other's reviews are the same as mine. They had 7 year old boys just hanging out in my 3 year old daughter's class whom she told me would push her down and step on her and beat her up, but they didn't care.
Good Preacher
Dude, For you to say "if I'm sleeping with him" is pretty immature. Why do you call your self a good preacher? Maybe you ought to take the pacifier out of you mouth and grow up a little bit. And for the record, I don't attend Good News Church.
changesrcomming
Dude, really? To me you sound like someone who has been around Fred Phelps way too long.
Good Preacher
Gordon Shipley is a good preacher of ripping people off and a good liar and cheat. This man is evil. His church should be under Unholy. topeka.net. Or under the Santanic Church instead of Assembly of God.Any man and his church who keeps families and there little children in flooding and dangerous black mold conditions is NO MAN OF GOD!
